What is lip pigmentation?

With lip pigmentation, the lips are pigmented by means of a permanent make-up device.

We apply the pigment into the skin of the lips with an ultra-fine needle.

With permanent lip makeup, your lips can look groomed at any time of the day.

Are your lips asymmetrical and would you like a nice shape, that is possible. But you can also optically make narrow lips look slightly fuller. And we can also give pale lips a fresh color.

Benefits:

  • Suitable for all lip shapes
  • Very natural nude effect
  • Beautiful soft contours
  • Wake up with perfect lips
  • No damage to the skin
  • Very good to apply
  • Almost no redness or swelling no scars

More information:

How long does it last?
Semi permanent lip pigmentation may last anywhere between 1-2 years.
How long does the treatment take?

It takes about 2,5 hours and the after care treatment about 1 hour.

It also depends if you want a soft blush of full lips effect.

How painful is semi permanent lip color?
I got many questions asking whether lip pigmentation hurts. And the answer to that is the level of feeling pain is quite relative according to someone’s pain level. But in general, a specific topical numbing cream will be applied before and during the procedure to make it more smooth and comfortable. Most of my client say it turned up to be easier than thought and it is completely doable.
Healing process

Your lips will feel swollen and dry after your treatment. Apply Aquaphor or Vaseline on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post treatment.

Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. Just pat the ointment on the lip and do not rub in.

Always use a clean Q-tip or clean/sanitized fingers to apply ointment to the lips area. This will reduce the risk of infection.

After your lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them as this may significantly reduce the amount pigment absorption.

Avoid sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Always be sure to use a sun block once lips are healed to preserve the color. Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips.

Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed. You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post treatment side effects and will dissipate in a short period of time. Avoid: oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.

Before you're appointment

Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (we recommend using Vaseline multiple times per day).
Also drink a lot of water so your lips won’t be dry on the day of the treatment.

COLD SORES

Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo only if you have had them in the past.

If you have had a cold sore in the past, we advise that you consult with a doctor to obtain an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure as a preventative. You will need two rounds of anti-viral – one in prep for the initial application and another in prep for the follow up.

Or you can use:

Zovirax 5 days before & 5 days after your treatment even if you have not had a cold sore before.

We recommend all of our clients to take:

1000 mg L-lysine in combination with 1000 mg Vitamin C

6 days before the appointment and 6 days following the appointment to reduce the risk.
